| Welcome
to the Arthouse Studio web page. We're very excited to be able to announce the
new service of live recordings at The Arthouse. Offering a high level of quality,
the studio has been setup as a permanent fixture and is operated by experienced
engineers. Artists now playing at The Arthouse have the option to capture and
document their live performances to a professional standard at an affordable price. History
In alot of ways The Arthouse studio has been along time coming. Over the years
we have seen some of the most amazing bands this country has to offer in their
most defining moments go undocumented. Sweat poured, lives changed, all for the
music. Late
2004, Melaine Kelly realised the need to make good quality live recordings accessible
and searched for the means to turn the idea into reality. The Melbourne City Council's
small business program found the idea to be "an important contribution to
the prosperity and innovation of the business community in the City of Melbourne"
and granted us an award and some funding to help us on our way.
The arthouse studio has never been a one person project, it has taken alot of
work and energy from numerous people. Their input has made the studio much grander
than initially planned. These
people have contributed a great amount of expertise and energy [ above and beyond
]. Matthew Bodiam, Trevor Bodiam, Jess Bodiam, John Watson, Michael Fitzgerald,
Chris Fitzgerald, Terry Kelly & Peter Kelly, we love you and thank you for
your acheivements.
In October 2005 A Death
In the family flew the legendary Frankie Stubbs over from the U.K to produce
their debut album. He walked into a sound proofed room with nothing much else
that we called our studio. He didn't seem fazed and was up for the challenge.
In the week that followed, piece by piece the equipment arrived as though every
day was christmas. That was our first studio recording experience. It was an honour
to have Frankie here and what better person to christen the studio. Throughout
2006, the facility has been utilized by Mid Youth Crisis, Mindsnare, The Vaginals,
Away From Now, Identity Theft, M.D.K and Against Me! October
2006 see's the official launch and the sky is the limit. |
